Fitting in mommy’s daily alone time is a life saver for me, you know that glorious time when it is completely silent in the house! This is a wonderful time and it keeps me a mentally healthy and keeps stress low.
I am one of those make a list and get it done type moms. I am usually running around the house most of the day checking things off my list, but sometimes I know this gets to me. Taking a slow down moment and getting some mommy daily alone time in is necessary. Sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine makes my day way less stressful and makes me take in all of the wonderful things that happened during the day. Rather than pushing on a going into a downward spiral of craziness
Here are Three ways to fit mommy’s daily alone time in through out the day…
1) Early morning, yes I love waking up early and watching the sun rise- if you are a morning person try this. Its amazing to see God’s beauty in the morning. Hot coffee, a blanket and the couch…yes please.
2) Nap time…if it happens! If my kids don’t sleep our rule is 1 hour of quiet time. This means 1 hour in your room, door shut, quietly reading or playing. Absolutely no talking to mommy. Bonus most of the time they end up falling asleep, yay!
3) Night time, is wine time! Probably my favorite, after the kids go to sleep, turning on a home improvement or cooking show and having a nice glass of cabernet or chardonnay. This makes all the troubles in the world melt away.
Working in one of these three times helps me reset. There are so many days where I am hustling and bustling and I don't realize that I am wearing myself thin. Hence, taking a 30 minute break or a little more time at night to work on myself is just the ticket to help me balance out. I am a better mom, a better wife and it puts a smile on my face at the end of the day.
